Save on Degas exhibition tickets

For the first time ever in Australia, audiences have the opportunity to see an exhibition of one of the most important and admired Impressionist artists – Edgar Degas. Degas traces the evolution of the artist’s style from finely crafted paintings to exuberant canvases with brilliant palettes and loose brushwork. The exhibition also showcases works from Degas's favoured subject-matter – the ballet, the races, the café-concerts, milliners, laundresses, and bathers. The exhibition features more than 120 masterpieces from some of the world’s most prestigious galleries and museums.

PRIVILEGE: Cardholders and up to ten guests will receive tickets to Degas at the concession rate. To redeem this offer, show your Privileges Card at the National Gallery of Australia front desk. This offer is valid until 22 March 2009. They will also enjoy Gallery Members' rates in the bookshop. Also, if the cardholder joins the Gallery as a Member (which includes use of the Members Lounge, invitations to members only events and more) the joining fee will be waived. Win double passes to watch Easy Virtue

Free film screening: Easy Virtue

Based on the 1924 play by Noël Coward, Easy Virtue marks the much-anticipated return of Australian director Stephan Elliott (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert). Set in the late 1920s and featuring an impressive cast including Jessica Biel, Ben Barnes, Colin Firth and Kristin Scott Thomas, Easy Virtue is effervescent entertainment. It tells the story of Larita (Biel), a glamorous young American woman who is swept off her feet by young Englishman, John Whittaker (Barnes), and marries impetuously. However, when the couple return to the family home, his mother Mrs Whittaker (Scott Thomas) has an instant allergic reaction to her new daughter-in-law - and a battle of wits ensues. Like a vintage bottle of champagne, Easy Virtue fizzes with lacerating wit, elegance and fun. In cinemas March 12, 2009.
